Universidad de Chile, 1993 Graduate in Advanced Studies (DEA), with specialization in criminal law and Criminal Sciences of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, Spain.

Graduate in the Reform of Criminal Procedure, Universidad de Chile.   

Professional Experience

He was founding partner in Bofill Mir & Alvarez Jana (2009-2011), and former partner of Bofill Mir Lawyers (2007-2009) and Miguel Soto and Company (1998-2003). He was associate lawyer in Espina Zepeda and Acosta Lawyers (2003-2007). Previously Attorney and associate lawyer in Hermosilla and Company (1994-1998). Solicitor in Balbontín and Linazasoro Lawyers (1989-1994).

Academic Experience

He has been professor of Criminal Law at Universidad La República, Universidad Andrés Bello, Universidad Alberto Hurtado, Universidad Mayor and Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez.. He has presented training courses for lawyers of the criminal Public Defender's Office and the Public Prosecutor's Office. He has assessed the Committee on Constitution, Legislation and Justice of the Chilean Senate for analysis, debate and enactment of the law on criminal liability of corporations (2009).


He is co-author of "The regulation of white collar crime in Chile", in Financier Worldwide Corporate Finance Intelligence, June, 2009; "Legal liability for environmental damage ", (Ecoamérica Magazine, June 2007, pp. 32 et seq). Additionally, he is co-author of the Chapter 4, "Chile", in the book "The International Investigations Review" (ed. Nicolas Bourtin, Law Business Research, London, 2011, pp. 41 et seq.).
